Refund a product

Half swipe a basket line to the yellow Refund to make it a refund line. The total goes negative and you pay it back at checkout.

To refund a product, you turn its basket line into a refund line. The total goes negative and you pay the customer back at checkout.

Before you start

  • The product the customer is returning, in the basket.

Steps

  1. Swipe the line part of the way to the left.

  2. Tap the yellow Refund. The line turns red at -1 and the total goes negative. For example, a £25.00 product makes the total -£25.00.

  3. Tap Checkout.

  4. Tap Exact under Cash to pay the customer back.

  5. Check Amount Paid shows the negative amount, then tap Done.

What you should see

The refund completes and a new basket starts.

Good to know

  • Tapping - in the product panel past zero also makes a negative (refund) line.

  • You cannot refund a past sale from Reports. The basket detail there only offers Print.

  • A full swipe to the red Void removes the line instead. See Void a product or a basket.
