Count your stock (stocktake)

A stocktake records what you counted. The difference is saved as surplus or wastage.

Use this article to record a stock count for a store in Shopwave Admin. The stocktake compares your count with the stock level in Shopwave and saves the difference as surplus or wastage.

Steps

  1. In Shopwave Admin, open the store and click the Stocktake tab.

  2. Click + New.

  3. Type the count for each product you counted.

  4. Click Reconcile.

  5. Check the surplus and wastage for each product.

  6. Add notes and unit costs where you need them.

  7. Click Complete.

  8. Click View All stocktakes to go back to the list.

What you should see

"Stocktake Submitted Successfully" shows the stocktake ID and the number of adjustments. The new stocktake is at the top of the list.

Good to know

  • The number of adjustments counts units, not products. For example, two products each counted 30 over the system level show as 60 adjustments.

  • To stop part way and carry on later, see Save a stocktake and finish it later.
