Add a category, with or without a parent

Categories > ADD creates a category. Choose a parent to make it a sub-category.

Use this article to add a category in Shopwave Admin. Choose a parent category to make the new one a sub-category.

Steps

  1. In Shopwave Admin, open Categories and click ADD.

  2. Type a Name for the category.

  3. To make it a sub-category, choose a Parent Category. Leave it empty for a top-level category.

  4. Click SAVE.

  5. Click BACK to return to the list.

What you should see

"Category saved successfully." shows. The new category is in the list. If you chose a parent, the parent shows a count of its sub-categories, for example "Drink (1)".

Good to know

  • The till has no sub-category view, so a sub-category does not show as its own tab on the till.

  • To get new categories onto the till, open POS Settings > Products and tap Refresh. See Get changes from Admin onto the till.

  • Each iPad chooses which categories it shows. See Choose which categories show on the till.
