Apply automatic promotions at checkout (Auto Promotions)

With Auto Promotions on, the POS checks for automatic promotions when you tap Checkout.

Use this article to have the till apply automatic promotions for you. With Auto Promotions on, the till checks for automatic promotions when you tap Checkout.

Before you start

  • Automatic promotions set up in Shopwave Admin with Is automatic switched on. See Create a promotion.

Steps

  1. Tap the menu icon (three lines) at the top right of the basket. This opens the basket options menu.

  2. Tap Settings. This opens POS Settings.

  3. Tap Components in the list on the left.

  4. Tap Checkout.

  5. Switch Auto Promotions on.

  6. Tap the X at the top left to close POS Settings.

  7. Add products to the basket.

  8. Tap Checkout. APPLYING PROMOTIONS shows for a moment.

What you should see

Any automatic promotion is applied before payment. The payment buttons are the same as with Auto Promotions off: Exact under Cash and Card, and cash buttons rounded up from the amount due. For example, for an £8.00 basket the cash buttons are £8, £10, £20 and £50.

Good to know

  • Older articles call this setting Check Promotions On Checkout. It is now Auto Promotions, under POS Settings > Components > Checkout.
