£0 baskets and baskets that are not fully paid

Complete a basket with nothing to pay, or one that has only been part paid.

Written by Andrew Lau

Sometimes a basket needs to be completed without a full payment, for example a free item or a sale settled outside the till. The till only allows this when Allow Unpaid Basket Completion is on.

Before you start

Turn on POS Settings > Components > Checkout > Allow Unpaid Basket Completion ("Allow for a basket to be marked as complete when not fully paid").

Steps

  1. Build the basket. Take any part payment as usual.

  2. Open the basket options menu (three lines, top right).

  3. Under Basket, tap Complete.

What you should see

  • With the setting on, the basket completes and a new basket starts. Reports show the basket was not fully paid.

  • With the setting off, the till says "£X Still To Pay: The basket has not been completely paid for." Pay the rest, or turn the setting on.

  • An empty basket cannot be completed. The till says "Basket Empty: Empty baskets can not be completed."
