This is the usual order of a trading day on the till. Each step links to its own article.
Opening
Open the app and log in with your user ID and PIN. See Log in with your user ID and PIN.
If you changed products or prices in Admin, refresh them: POS Settings > Products > Refresh.
Check the printer and card terminal are connected. A test sale is the quickest check.
During the day
Take sales: add products, tap Checkout, take payment, tap Done.
Hand over the till with Switch User in the basket options menu. Each person keeps their own basket.
Park a basket with Save in the basket options menu, and pick it up later.
Refund a product with a negative quantity. See Refund a product.
If the connection drops, keep selling. The till says "Welcome To Offline Mode" and uploads the sales when it is back online. See When the iPad loses its connection.
Closing
Complete or delete any open baskets.
Run an X Read to check the day's totals: POS Settings > Reports > Print X Read.
Run the close out: POS Settings > Reports > Close Out > New. See Close out at the end of the day.
Check POS Settings > Reports > Unsynced and Not Uploaded are empty before you switch off.
