Leaving the app and coming back

In 4.4 the POS did not lock itself while left idle for two minutes. Closing the app logs you out, so you log back in with your ID and PIN.

This article explains what happens to your basket when you leave the POS, and how to log back in. Closing the app logs you out, so you log back in with your user ID and PIN.

Before you start

  • A basket in progress.

Steps

  1. Add a product to the basket.

  2. Swipe up from the bottom of the iPad to leave the app.

  3. Tap the POS icon to open it again.

  4. Tap Login With PIN.

  5. Enter your 4-digit user ID.

  6. Enter your 4-digit PIN. The title says PIN correct, then LOADING PRODUCTS shows while the menu loads.

  7. Check your basket is still there.

What you should see

After you log back in, your basket is still there with its number and products.

Good to know

  • The POS does not lock itself when it is left idle. A till left on the sale screen for two minutes did not ask for a PIN.
